CPT Update - Nov/Dec 2009

Little Bickington Farm

After many months of negotiation, the “Section 106 Agreement” (a legal agreement between Torridge DC, the Parish Council and the CPT) has finally been signed, allowing Torridge to formally issue the planning consent. The Business Plan has also been completed and sent to potential funders. Good progress is being made towards raising the required grants and loans from banks, Government and charitable sources. We hope to be able to make a start on the affordable housing, workshops and infrastructure in early 2010.

Community Directory – Last Call for a Volunteer

As reported in September, the CPT and Parish Council would like to prepare a new edition of the Community Directory. Funding has been obtained to cover printing costs and to pay reasonable expenses for someone to gather information on all the organisations, businesses and services in the parish. If you are interested in applying for this work, please contact David Venner by Friday 11th December.

Come and be a part of a World Record Tree Planting attempt!

On Saturday 5th December, between 11am and 12 noon, volunteers will be planting 200 trees along a bank at Barton Meadow. Why? It will provide a more definite boundary to the recreation area and will form, in a few years’ time, an important wildlife habitat. The planting will also be part of an attempt to plant 1,000,000 trees across the whole country within the hour. Can we do it? We can with your help! Adults and children welcome (parents, please supervise under 11s). Please meet at 10.45 prompt at the south end of Barton Meadow Recreation Area and bring a spade if you have one.
