Future Plans
The professional team are now working steadily towards the production of the detailed planning application which we hope to submit in April/May this year. Work is also in progress on the contract to be agreed with Devon CC before the handover of the land can take place.
North Devon and Torridge Core Strategy: Issues and Options Report
The Community Property Trust has submitted detailed comments on the draft Issues and Options Report. Central to these comments is a request that the proposed Little Bickington Farm development site should be identified by the Core Strategy as a housing allocation site and for the development boundary to be extended to reflect this. At its meeting on January 9th the Parish Council endorsed this approach.
Housing survey
We are awaiting the final report from the Community Council for Devon. As soon as we have it the summary will be published and the full report made available.
Community Woodland Commendation
South West Forest recently undertook a review of community woodlands that they have helped to establish throughout the Forest area. Their comments on Quarry Wood were as follows: "a model community woodland with excellent establishment and subsequent maintenance good continuing community involvement and woodland being integrated into village plans...a model scheme worthy of entry into competitions/awards."
The next maintenance work in the wood will take place on Saturday 9th February from 10am. Please join us if you can spare the time.
