September / October Update

Housing Survey

John Scott of the Community Council of Devon has informed us that there was a 48% response rate to the Parish Housing Needs Survey, conducted in August on our behalf. Apparently this is a very good response rate for this type of survey. We look forward to receiving their detailed analysis and report in the next few weeks. The overall results will be made public although individual responses will of course remain confidential.

Annual General Meeting

The Community Property Trust's third AGM took place on Thursday 13th September. Chairman David Brown reviewed the CPT's activities in 2006/07; the Annual Report and Financial Statements were adopted and directors Ken Burford and Irene Matthews were re-elected. After the formal business, those attending had a further opportunity to view the model and plans of the proposals.

Future Plans

Appointments of the professional team will be made in the next few weeks so that a start can be made on the preparation of a detailed planning application for Little Bickington Farm. Devon County Council has appointed independent assessors to validate the financial appraisal prepared for the scheme. The County Council's Director of Finance, John Mills, visited the village recently to review our plans in advance of him preparing a detailed report for a meeting of the County Council's Executive Committee at which it is hoped the County Council will confirm its ongoing support for the scheme.
