December Update

Future Plans

A very useful meeting has been held with Renewable Energy for Devon, a new group promoting the use of renewables in new developments in the County, and on November 21st the partners in the project met to discuss the way forward. It is anticipated that a full planning application for the revised scheme will be submitted in the second half of 2007. To confirm and update the information we have on housing need, a further survey will be conducted in the New Year.

CPT Committees

To assist in the planning of the revised scheme the Community Property Trust will be setting up or expanding the groups that previously met when the Master Plan was being prepared in 2004. If anyone wishes to become involved in this work please contact David Venner.

Community Property Trust funding

In early November we received confirmation that the Carnegie UK Trust have agreed to support our work over the next two years, awarding us £10,000 as part of a composite bid from similar projects in the South West. This is in addition to the £15,000 received from Lloyds TSB Foundation earlier this year. Devon County Council continues to support our work, both financially and as partners in the project. Last but not least the Parish Council have kindly agreed to give their £500 prize money from the Community Empowerment awards to the CPT, to support our work aimed at meeting the housing needs of the parish.

Community Woodland

As we await a decision on the planning application for access improvements, the winter maintenance tasks are being planned. If anyone would like to get involved in caring for the woodland, replacing trees that have not grown, etc, please get in touch.

Any questions, comments etc about the proposals can be directed to the Project Coordinator/Administrator or any of the Directors of the CPT via the Project office: The Meeting Point, North Road, High Bickington. Telephone 01769 560161 or email david.venner@highbickington.org
