Little Bickington Farm
Negotiations with Devon County Council on extending the temporary lease on Little Bickington farm house, buildings and land have been successfully concluded. The CPT are tenants for another 12 months or until such time as the development goes ahead.

The Devon Rural Skills Trust turf hedging course will be on Saturday 13 th May. Anyone wishing to take part should book through the Trust by ‘phoning 07786 441300 after 6.30pm. It will cost £15 (£10 for DRST members).

Public Inquiry
We have been informed that the Planning Inspector's Report has been sent to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minster and that a decision should be available on or before 11 th May.

Community Woodland
Replacement of the few trees that had failed to grow was carried out on 11 th February. We also experimented with making and putting down ‘mulch mats' made out of recycled carpet and cardboard. If applied to the rest of the trees this will reduce the need to spray around each tree and will help prevent the roots from drying out. So another day has been fixed to do this:

SATURDAY 18 TH MARCH, FROM 9.30AM AT QUARRY WOOD

All are welcome. Please bring along any carpet offcuts or whole carpets (hessian, NOT foam-backed) that are no longer needed – ring 560161 if you need help with transporting them. Also useful is cardboard at least 2 ft (600mm) square – ideally the corrugated sort that comes with flat-packed furniture or appliances. With a good turnout of volunteers and a fine day we should be able to ‘mulch' a fair proportion of the trees. See you there!

Finally, a reminder that anyone with any questions, comments etc about the Little Bickington Farm proposals can contact the Project Coordinator/ Administrator or any of the directors of the CPT via the project office – see contact details below.
