December Update

Master Plan for Little Bickington Farm
The Exhibition of the revised Master Plan, held in the Meeting Point at the end of October, attracted approximately 75 people over the two days. A great deal of interest was shown in the revised plan and generally speaking the revisions were well received. If you were unable to attend the Exhibition - or would like another look - the plan can still be viewed at the Meeting Point in office hours - please phone David Venner on 01769 560161 to make an appointment.

Community Property Trust membership
6 new members have joined the CPT following applications made during the Exhibition - this brings the total membership to 180.

Community and Business Directory
The updated directory has now been published by the Parish Council and (hopefully) has been delivered to every house in the parish. If you have not received your copy please contact David Venner (see below).

Public Local Inquiry
A reminder that the Inquiry into the Little Bickington Farm planning application is to take place from 17th to 19th January next year. At the time of writing we are still awaiting official confirmation on the venue to be used but we have received a verbal agreement, from the Planning Inspectorate, that it should be possible to hold it in the Church Hall at High Bickington. A separate article on the Inquiry appears elsewhere in Ramblings. At the Torridge District Council Plans Committee meeting, on 17th November, councillors received a report with further information on the Little Bickington proposals and resolved to adopt the report as the basis on which their officers would present evidence and support the application at the Local Public Planning Inquiry.

Affordable Rural Housing Commission
Evidence has been submitted to this Commission, which is gathering views on the problem of affordable housing as it affects those in rural areas such as North Devon and Torridge. The Commissioners are looking for innovative schemes that are tackling this issue. They are due to report in spring 2006.

Publicity
Following the national coverage on the Six O'clock News in early October, West Country TV featured the Project on 16th November and Radio Devon also carried information about the Project on the following morning's Breakfast Show and News Bulletins.

Finally, a reminder that anyone with any questions, comments etc about the Little Bickington Farm proposals can contact the Project Coordinator/Administrator or any of the directors of the CPT via the project office - see contact details below.
