October News Update

Master Plan revision
In July last year a Master Plan for Little Bickington Farm was exhibited in the Church Hall. Over 200 people attended during the weekend and 30 written comments were received. On the whole the response was favourable but there were a number of concerns about parts of the development. These have been looked at carefully and solutions found in most cases. The following are just three examples:

  • Access into the site from North Road has been made safer by means of a T junction with traffic coming into the village from the Libbaton direction giving way.
  • Traffic through the site was a concern - the revised Plan proposes moving the new workshops nearer the main road so that service traffic does not go through the main housing area to reach them.
  • Another change is to locate the school and community hall alongside the proposed playing field and nearer the community woodland - again in response to suggestions from the community.

All the proposed changes can be viewed at an Exhibition of the Master Plan to be held on Saturday and Sunday, the 29th and 30th October in the Meeting Point. Posters will be put up to advertise times.

Sport England application
There's still time to return the questionnaires circulated with last month's Ramblings. The survey is being carried out to obtain a more up-to-date picture of sport and recreation demand than that revealed by the Parish Appraisal in 2001. At that time 102 people said they wanted to take part in Keep Fit, 74 in Badminton, 66 in Tennis, 47 in Football and 41 in Cricket! Do these figures still hold true? We'd like to know so that, if necessary, the plans can be adjusted. Please complete the forms and return them to The Meeting Point - or post in the boxes in The Old George, Golden Lion and Libbaton Golf Club. Spare copies of the form are also available at these locations.

Housing
Just a reminder to all those on our housing list - please return the forms sent out in July asking for any changes in your circumstances and for confirmation of your interest. If anyone with a need for affordable housing has not registered their interest, please get in touch.

Finally, a reminder that anyone with any questions, comments etc about the Little Bickington Farm proposals can contact the Project Coordinator/Administrator or any of the directors of the CPT via the project office - see contact details below.
