Annual General Meeting
The date for the AGM of High Bickington CPT Ltd has been set for Tuesday 5th July at Umberleigh Village Hall. Everyone will be welcome to attend although voting will be restricted to shareholders of the CPT.
Community Woodland
A "maintenance day" was held in warm spring weather on 19th March. (Maintenance morning would be more accurate - the volunteers worked so hard that everything was done by mid-day!). Tree shelters were firmed in, a path mown across the top of the field and a rustic seat put in place near the SE corner. Many thanks to everyone who turned out: further days will be held in the future. Any one walking in the "woodland" will notice a large post in the centre. This is for predators such as buzzards, kestrels and owls to perch on, to help keep the rabbit and vole populations under control. A number of nesting boxes have also been put up to encourage birds to take up residence.
The primary school children have already made use of the community woodland for a Forest School day and the Small Woods Association is to include High Bickington in its Study Tour of the South West in July.
Education and Community Facilities
By the time that this appears in print, the third in the series of workshops looking at the design of the new school, hall and other facilities will have been held. The outcome of these discussions will be reported in a future Ramblings.
