December Update

Master Plan for Little Bickington Farm
The Exhibition of the revised Master Plan, held in the Meeting Point at the end of October, attracted approximately 75 people over the two days. A great deal of interest was shown in the revised plan and generally speaking the revisions were well received. If you were unable to attend the Exhibition - or would like another look - the plan can still be viewed at the Meeting Point in office hours - please phone David Venner on 01769 560161 to make an appointment.

October News Update

Master Plan revision
In July last year a Master Plan for Little Bickington Farm was exhibited in the Church Hall. Over 200 people attended during the weekend and 30 written comments were received. On the whole the response was favourable but there were a number of concerns about parts of the development. These have been looked at carefully and solutions found in most cases. July / August News Update

Community Property Trust The Annual General Meeting held on 7th July at Little Bickington Farm attracted 40 shareholders and 9 other residents. Thanks are due to Alan and Marcia Smale for providing the barbecue and to Doug Chapman of the Old George for running the bar. The CPT, having agreed a Farm Business Tenancy of Little Bickington with the County Council, have sub-let the farmhouse, some of the barns and the land. It should be noted therefore that there is no public access to or through the farmyard other than for organised events.

June / July Update

Annual General Meeting
The AGM will be held on Thursday 7th July at 7.30pm at Little Bickington Farm (not at Umberleigh Village Hall as previously announced). We hope for a fine evening and intend to follow the meeting with a barbecue and liquid refreshments for which payment will be required. If the weather is too wet or windy for meeting in an open-ended barn we will adjourn to the Church Hall.

The Annual General Meeting is open for anyone to attend but any voting that might be required will, of course, be limited to shareholders of the CPT.

There may be a delay in the determination of the outline planning application but the work of the Trust goes on. Over the coming months we intend to produce progress reports on different aspects of the project. The first of these will be an explanation of the way in which we propose to develop the affordable housing, with examples of the different purchase and rental options.
