December Update

Future Plans

A very useful meeting has been held with Renewable Energy for Devon, a new group promoting the use of renewables in new developments in the County, and on November 21st the partners in the project met to discuss the way forward. It is anticipated that a full planning application for the revised scheme will be submitted in the second half of 2007. To confirm and update the information we have on housing need, a further survey will be conducted in the New Year.

Funding

We received welcome news recently regarding future funding of the CPT and Project. The regional representative of the Lloyds TSB Foundation has informed us that the Trustees have approved our application for a contribution towards our 'core costs' - salary and office running expenses - and we expect to receive confirmation of this in early August. This means that it will be possible to continue to employ our Project Coordinator, David Venner, on a part time basis.

The full texts of both the decision letter and the Inspector's Report can be found on this website.

Initial feelings were of frustration and anger that five and a half years' effort had apparently been dismissed at the stroke of a Ministerial pen.
