High Bickington's Plans Get Major Funding Boost

Ambitious plans to regenerate the rural Parish of High Bickington have received a major boost with the announcement that a two-year £170,000 funding package has been awarded under the North West Devon Leader+ Scheme.

High Bickington Landscape Assessment

This landscape assessment has been undertaken to help inform discussions of alternative uses for Little Bickington Farm. Devon County Council, in conjunction with Torridge District Council, High Bickington Parish Council and a committee of local residents - High Bickington Project 2000 - are formulating proposals that meet the needs expressed in the Parish Appraisal.

Project Planning Day - January 2003

Thank you to all those who have provided written comments on the plans exhibited at the recent Exhibition and Parish Consultation Exercise. These, together with other comments made directly to members of the Committee, were considered at a Project Planning Day held at County Hall Exeter on Friday 10th January 2003. Those participating in the Planning Day included representatives from: Devon County Council, Torridge District Council, High Bickington Parish Council and High Bickington Project 2000. At the end of the day a representative group met with John Burnett M.P.

Exhibition of Plans and Parish Consultation Exercise - November 2002

Around 250 people visited a very successful Exhibition of Plans and Parish Consultation Exercise held over the weekend of 23rd and 24th November. Work is now underway to assess the responses made during the weekend, to agree any changes that need to be made to the initial sketch plans and to consider the part that alternative crops might play in the future development of local agriculture.
